I struggle to understand why otherwise intelligent people think borrowing Billions of dollars to fund this otherwise laughable and most of corrupt of institutions is justified.
Once again the UN and its highest office holder prove their absolute inability or unwillingness to comprehend the real world.
History
Lebanon dysfunctional as it is today, stands as the ultimate example of what we as a world face if we were to be stupid enough to embrace the message this fool is pushing.
I would encourage everyone to do some reading, just take a look at the History of Lebanon, earlier in the 20th Century it was a thriving majority Christian nation, with its Capital Beirut referred to as the Paris of the Middle East.
Just remember from 1948 to 1973 Lebanon with its unique and somewhat naïve form of Government was one of the few countries in the Middle East to make welcome both Christian and Arab refugees from the Arab Israeli conflicts.
A major crisis among the Arab nationalists took place with the failed establishment of the Arab Kingdom of Syria in 1920.
With the disastrous outcome of the Franco-Syrian War, the self-proclaimed Hashemite kingdom with its capital in Damascus was defeated and the Hashemite ruler took refuge in Mandatory Iraq.
The crisis saw the first confrontation of nationalist Arab and Jewish forces, taking place in the Battle of Tel Hai in March 1920, but more importantly the collapse of the pan-Arabist kingdom led to the establishment of the local Palestinian version of Arab nationalism, with the return of Haj Amin al-Husseini from Damascus to Jerusalem in late 1920.
Many people who claim to be Palestinian are Arabs who moved into the area around Jerusalem around that time and embraced this Arab nationalism.
The governance model adopted in Lebanon following WWII which amounted to a majority Christian population sharing power with a Muslim population was the early inspiration for the policy we now know as Multiculturalism.
Now take a look at the price Lebanon has paid and continues to pay for being so generous as to welcome these Arabs as asylum seeking refugees, it is now a country racked with violence and full of Islamic insurgents.
Long gone are its days of peace and dreams of Paris.
We still hear today from the mouths of the Arab Islamic world their absolute determination to destroy Israel and drive every Jew into the sea, just check out comments from the head of the Iranian army in September 2015 if you have any doubts, this is the same Iran that has just been successful in negotiating with Obama and the UN to relieve themselves of sanctions. Sanctions imposed due to continued State sponsorship of Terrorism.
So we know that Israel is not the aggressor here, we also know there are massive problems all over the middle east between all sorts of conflicted Islamic groups, one thing they have in common is their willingness to rape, torture, enslave and kill in the most inhumane fashion.
Yet this idiot Ban Ki-Moon follows the blind path of absolute and wilful ignorance, instead suggesting that if Israel would just be nicer and concede a bit more land to Palestinian Arabs this murdering mob of Islam would just miraculously calm down and live peacefully.
The lessons to be learned from Lebanon stand as a warning to any peaceful country that has never experienced up close the ravaging destructive social force that is Islam.
Check it out, do not take my word for anything but I do implore you to research the historical impacts of Islamic refugees on what were once peaceful societies before you subscribe blindly to the UN concept of a borderless multicultural world.
The Really Insane Thing About Ban Ki-Moon’s Speech
Yes, it is outrageous that Ban Ki Moon essentially called terror attacks a natural result of “occupation,” and Netanyahu was right in slamming him for it.
But that wasn’t the strangest part of the speech.
The title of Ban Ki-Moon’s talk was “Secretary-General’s remarks to the Security Council on the Situation in the Middle East.”
There were 52 paragraphs in the speech according to the official UN record.
Of those 52, three were about Lebanon. Two referred to Syria – one about refugees and one about the Golan.
The entire rest of the speech was about Israel and the Palestinians.
The Secretary General of the UN gives an overview of the Middle East without mentioning Syrian atrocities, without mentioning Iraqi instability, without even mentioning ISIS.
Nothing about Iran. Nothing about Saudi Arabia, which is killing more civilians in Yemen than Israel did in Gaza. Nothing about Egypt or Libya. Not a word about Kurds.
On the contrary – Ban Ki Moon implied that if only Israel would just give some more concessions, then the rest of the region would be inspired to make peace. “As the wider Middle East continues to be gripped by a relentless wave of extremist terror, Israelis and Palestinians have an opportunity to restore hope to a region torn apart by intolerance and cruelty.”
The word “obsession” hardly does justice to the single-minded Israel fetish at the UN.
But, yes, we must also be angry at the Secretary General’s justification for terror.
Op-Ed: Teaching the UN Secrretary General about human nature
Secretary General Ban Ki-moon committed an egregious error a few days ago. He woke up and got out of bed. He shouldn’t have. Had he remained in bed, perhaps, perhaps, he might have managed to get through the day without saying something exceedingly stupid.
Before a meeting of the UN Security Council, Ban Ki-moon justified terrorism. That’s right, he said it was “human nature.” His exact words were “It is human nature to react to occupation.”
Human nature to stick a knife in someone’s head or ram a car into a baby carriage? Honestly, I have no idea what kind of society Ban is from but I’m thinking it (and he) needs to be reprogrammed.
Human nature?
Like the terrorist who was angry when his parents wouldn’t let him date his younger cousin – so he borrowed the family vehicle and rammed it into my son’s unit – human nature?
Like the one who focused a rifle on the head of a ten month old child – and pulled the trigger – human nature?
Like the 13-year-old who walked up to a Jewish boy on a bicycle and stabbed him – human nature?
Like the 16-year-old who just stabbed a 38 year old nurse in the head and only stopped his killing spree because he wasn’t strong enough to get the knife out – human nature?
Like Samir Kuntar, who murdered a father and then beat a four year old to death?
Like the Palestinian cousins from Awarta who stabbed a three year old boy and slit the throat of a four month old baby?
Is this human nature?
And this ridiculous justification of terror from the Secretary General of the United Nations? Clearly he doesn’t know what a human being is – so maybe I can help a little.
Human nature is Dafna Meir – who blocked a murderer’s knife from getting to her children – who fought with her last ounce of strength to save her babies.
Human nature is Roi Klein, who fell on a grenade to save his soldiers from harm.
Human nature is the commander who ran alone into a tunnel to try to save one of his soldiers.
Human nature is the young, unarmed soldier who saw his friend hit by a terrorists car, pinned down and about to be stabbed – running at the terrorist and being stabbed himself to save his friend’s life.
Human nature is Ofer Ben Ami, who ran into a terror attack to help a victim, even though in the end he died for his bravery.
Human nature is the mother who saved her infant by shielding the baby with her body as a terrorist exploded himself in a cafe.
Human nature is the father who gathers his devastated, now motherless children into his arms and becomes their world, rather than focus on hate and revenge.
Human nature is the brother who drops everything and rushes north to where his sister is being held hostage, who rushes in and carries her to safety despite any danger to himself.
Human nature, Mr. Ban, is remembering that despite morons like you, we live in one of the most just, moral countries in the world. A country where Arab and Jew and Christian are free to live as they can nowhere else in the Middle East. A country and a people that will live on long after you and your absurd comment about human nature have long since been forgotten.
